Uru wins coveted Players’ Player of the Year

Departing Number 8 Tui Uru has concluded his time at Goldington Road in the perfect fashion by taking home the most coveted award from the Bedford Blues End of Season Dinner having won Players’ Player of the Year.

It completes a remarkable campaign for the back row forward – who was also named in the Championship Clubs Podcast Team of the Season – following some strong performances in 2022/23, making 25 appearances and scoring six tries.

Securing the award – which is voted for after every game by the squad – is a huge accolade and one that rounds off a solid three years at the club, ahead of a move to French outfit Chambery in time for the new season.

Uru becomes the latest in an illustrious line of previous winners and received the trophy from Will Maisey, who was the recipient 12 months ago.
