2023/24 Championship League Fixtures announced
The fixture schedule for the 2023/24 Championship league campaign has today been announced as Bedford Blues continue preparations for the exciting new season.
We look forward to welcoming another neighbour as Cambridge enter the second tier, hosting them in the last weekend of November before the usual festive encounters, this time away at Ampthill before Coventry come to town over the New Years holiday.
Bedford’s league campaign starts at Goldington Road against title favourites Ealing Trailfinders on the weekend of 21st October before the Blues hit the road on Rugby World Cup final week versus Cornish Pirates as Mike Rayer’s men are given the three longest away trips to open the season. Full list of fixtures below, exact dates to be confirmed by the club.
The season finishes in June with a two-legged play-off fixture, between the side who finishes top of the Championship and bottom of the Premiership.
The Premiership Cup format is still scheduled to be composed of five pool fixtures prior to the start of the league season. These fixtures are set to take place at the start of the season between W/E of Saturday 9th September and Saturday 7th October. Pools and fixtures to be announced soon.
With the Championship remaining at 12 clubs this coming season, there are no bye weekends, but there will be eight reserve weeks spread across the season.
