Bedford Blues can today reveal all confirmed dates and kick-off times ahead of the 15 scheduled men’s first team matches at Goldington Road during the 2023/24 campaign.
This year Mike Rayer’s side will be competing in Championship league action as well as the newly revamped Premiership Cup as the Blues test themselves against some of the most historic and successful teams in the country.
Bedford begin their home exploits in pre-season action against Premiership heavyweights, Northampton Saints on August Bank Holiday before attentions switch to the Cup.
Competitive action gets underway in September with the visit of Caldy during the Cup pool stage in our Blues Foundation Family Fun Day ahead of the mouthwatering prospect of former European champions, Leicester Tigers heading to town in October.
Ealing Trailfinders are the first visitors to Goldington Road in Championship action later that month before we remember our fallen heroes and welcome current serving personnel on Remembrance Weekend against Hartpury University on November 11th.
The opening home derby of the season sees Blues square off against newly promoted Cambridge for the first time since February 1979 with Richie Williams’ side the visitors in late November.
2023’s final men’s game sees us host early Christmas celebrations at our traditional Festive fixture with Nottingham in mid-December.
There’s no better way to start 2024 than with rugby at Goldington Road! And we couldn’t have picked a more intense contest as old rivals Coventry visit on New Years Day.
Friday Night Lights return as we entertain London Scottish in late January before Cornish Pirates are the visitors eight days later at the later time of 4pm with England in early Six Nations action that day.
Last season’s champions then fly across from the Channel Islands in March to kick start the end of season run before Caldy’s second visit – this time in league action - as we host traditional Ladies Day celebrations.
While there may not be any Mobbs Memorial Match bragging rights up for grabs this coming season, Bedford Blues will continue to host The British Army on Easter Weekend.
The Battle of Bedfordshire is the penultimate home fixture of the season as Blues look to retain their recent inspired form against Ampthill in April ahead of the End of Season Party at Goldington Road when title chasing Doncaster Knights visit in May.
Individual match tickets will go on sale in August with Season Tickets still available as the only way to guarantee your spot to all of these fixtures, as well as those of our Bedford Blues Women side.
