MATCH FOCUS | Saints march into town
Bedford Blues ramp up preparations for the 2023/24 campaign as they host Premiership heavyweights, Northampton Saints in their first home fixture of the season this Saturday lunchtime (Gates Open 11am; Kick Off 1:30pm).

Big Game Preview
Mike Rayer’s side return to home soil following victory over Swansea two weeks ago and look to fine tune their performance ahead of an exciting league and cup season. The line-up is expected to feature every new signing, so don’t miss the chance to watch live rugby back at GR and meet the squad post-game.
Saturday’s game also represents a first hit out for Saints as Phil Dowson looks to similarly prepare his squad for the Premiership campaign ahead. Expect both teams to name inflated matchday squads and familiar friends to become foes on gameday. Team News named on Friday evening.
Kit Launch
Blues will launch their new threads for the season for the very first time on Saturday with home and away jerseys available from our Club Shop at the normal times of from one hour before kick-off, at half-time and following the final whistle.
Keep your eyes peeled for teasers of the new designs before official launch in time for matchday.
Marquee Activation
Pop into The CMC Marquee on Saturday as we hold a #BluesFamily showcase with stalls from all sections of the club – Men’s, Women’s, Minis and Juniors, Blues Foundation, Former Players Association, Followers, Friends of the Blues and Blues Events. Find out more about the functions of each by saying hi to our representatives.
The marquee will remain open all day as bar only with no hospitality guests in this area on Saturday.

Food, Drink and Entertainment
With our new CMBC partnership announced earlier this week, expect some new names on the pumps around the ground on matchday with one more surprise to follow.
Head to the ground early from gates opening at 11am and sample everything we have to offer! Why not grab a full matchday programme and visit one of our five public bars; our choice would be the newly refurbished Eagle Bar, or those looking for a quick pint should try Swipestation which returns to newly decorated Scrum Bar.
As part of our Summer refurbishment works, a new catering unit adorned in Blues colours has been installed next to the main gates and will open for the first time this weekend. Elsewhere around the ground are The Burger & Sausage Hut on the halfway line and Taylor’s Kitchen at the Scrum Bar serving hatch.
The Mini Fan Village is set to remain ever popular this season after also having a spruce up in the off season. This weekend containing the Dunster House Bar, the final instalment of the Coffee & Cake Horsebox and guest appearance from Ice Cream Joe.
After the match action on the hallowed turf, stick around for Amazon Prime’s coverage of England v Fiji available on the TVs in most public areas.
Blues Foundation Activation
This weekend’s Guard of Honour, sponsored by Bellway Homes, will be from our Junior Blues minis set-up. Make sure to give them a cheer as they step out onto the pitch in their brand-new jersey supplied by the club to form the pre-match tunnel.
Fancy supporting our charitable arm in the easiest of ways? Drop your Eco-Cup into the charity bin which will form part of their marquee stall to raise £1 for Blues Foundation.
Season Ticket Cards
This is the first of 15 men’s matches included in the 23/24 Season Ticket package. Supporters who opted to purchase a physical card option when ordering, simply arrive at the collection gates outside the main Goldington Road entrance with your name and some form of ID to collect from the gazebo. For all other ST holders please use your electronic ticket received on purchase and scan your QR at any turnstile.
