MATCH FOCUS | Blues head north for Falcons test
Bedford Blues continue their Premiership Rugby Cup adventures with another visit to Premiership opposition when they face Newcastle Falcons under the Friday Night Lights (KO 7:45pm).

Big Game Preview
Blues will be looking for a response after an opening defeat against Sale Sharks last weekend to kickstart cup proceedings. Tries from James Lennon and Seán French showed glimpses of what Bedford can showcase, and they’ll be looking for a complete performance in the North East.
Newcastle, meanwhile, fared much better in their first pool stage fixture and will be looking for a Bedfordshire 1-2 after seeing off Ampthill with a ruthless second-half display to rack up 40 points at Dillingham Park.
Falcons have lost a number of their Argentinian contingent to Rugby World Cup duty. But having cherry picked players out of the Championship over the Summer, expect a number of familiar faces to be on display at Kingston Park.
Bedford have some walking wounded after the Sale clash so may be forced into some changes this Friday night. Full Team News from both sides at lunchtime on Thursday.
We’ve Met Before
There have been some classic encounters between Bedford and the home side in their various name guises throughout the years since their own inception in 1887; Gosforth, Newcastle and Newcastle Falcons.
Bedford won the first seven meetings between the two sides, but Newcastle have been largely dominant since then, themselves winning the past seven encounters as well as leading the overall series by 20 wins to 13, alongside a draw.
Memorable moments in this fixture include the Goldington Road cracker in 1997 and the Premiership Play-Off Finals of 2013.
