Big Game Preview
After defeats to Sale Sharks and Newcastle Falcons, cup progression is now a tall order for Mike Rayer’s side, but there’s more than just pride at stake this Saturday. Blues were able to go unbeaten at home all the way to April last season and will be hoping to ignite a similar run of form starting against the Ravers.
Matt Cairns’ Caldy will be looking for a Bedfordshire 1-2 after victory over Ampthill last time out. This is only their second ever visit to Goldington Road following first meetings between two historic clubs last year.
World Cup Fever
Not just the action on the hallowed turf to keep you entertained this matchday, with three games from the Rugby World Cup on the TV screens around the ground. The public viewing areas will be The Eagle Bar and Scrum Bar, while hospitality guests in The Dovecote Park Suite and The Burrow at the Blues can also see every game.
Saturday’s matches are Portugal v Georgia (1pm), England v Chile (4:45pm) and South Africa v Ireland (8pm).
Blues Foundation Family Fun Day
The CMC Marquee will be transformed into our charity HQ on Saturday, with fun, games and activities before and after the match – including live music from the highly acclaimed duo Mark Calder and Cameo Williams (after the final whistle from 5pm).
This weekend’s Guard of Honour, sponsored by Bellway Homes, will be formed by the Under 9 sections of Junior Blues, Stockwood Park, Dunstablians and Royston, after their mini tournament on the back pitch. Give them all a cheer as they step out onto the pitch to form the pre-match tunnel.
The full guide for what Blues Foundation have got planned for the day can be found here, including market stalls, community games and learning, raffles, inflatable obstacle courses and much more.
