TEAM NEWS | Eight changes for home return

Mike Rayer has named his squad as Bedford Blues prepare for their first competitive home fixture of the 2023/24 campaign when they entertain Caldy at Goldington Road tomorrow (KO 3pm).

A fledgling fixture in terms of prior history, the two sides first met only last season and shared a home win apiece, averaging over 70 points across the two contests.

Rayer is using the competition as an opportunity to get a number of minutes into the legs of every member of his squad and again makes eight changes ahead of the clash to keep with that theme of rest and rotation.

There are three changes in the backs division as the trio of Michael Le Bourgeois, Dean Adamson and Wil Maisey are restored to the Starting XV.

In the forwards pack, Cameron King has recovered from the injury concern sustained at Sale Sharks to begin proceedings – Jordan Onojaife starts for the first time this season while James Fish, Oisin Heffernan and Jac Arthur also all come back in from the off.

Fish will captain the side on the pitch, however Le Bourgeois will lead the side from the changing room on the occasion of his 150th Bedford Blues appearance.

Among the replacements, Joey Conway is in line for his 50^th cap.
