MATCH FOCUS | Tigers in town this Saturday

Posted: 4th October 2023

One of the biggest games in recent club history is soon to be upon us as Premiership and European heavyweights, Leicester Tigers head to Goldington Road for the first time since 2000 this Saturday 7th October (KO 3pm).

A bumper crowd is expected as we conclude our Premiership Rugby Cup campaign; avoid disappointment by securing your tickets now by clicking here.

Big Game Preview

A game the squad have had an eye on since the fixtures were released in July, Saturday’s game represents a final opportunity for Mike Rayer’s side to spring an upset on Premiership opposition.

Dan McKellar’s Leicester need just a point to guarantee their progression to the semi-finals of the competition. With Tigers opening their league campaign the following Friday, they’ll be looking for a final bit of momentum at Goldington Road.

World Cup Fever

All four Home Nations are in Rugby World Cup action on Saturday, and we’ll have every moment screened LIVE on the TVs around the ground.

Two additional screens have been installed in The CMC Marquee offering an additional venue post-game to watch all three matches alongside The Eagle Bar and Scrum Hall. Hospitality guests in The Dovecote Park Suite and The Burrow at the Blues can also see every game.

Saturday’s RWC schedule: Wales v Georgia (2pm), England v Samoa (4:45pm), Ireland v Scotland (8pm).

Food, Drink and Entertainment

Head to the ground early to sample everything we have to offer! Once through the gates why not grab a programme and visit one of our seven public bars; our choice would be the newly refurbished Eagle Bar serving this week’s guest ale ‘Wainwright’s Amber’, or for a speedy pint try Swipestation which continues in The Scrum Bar.

An additional can bar will be located next to the Chalet Bar outside The Burrow at the Blues offering an extra service point for San Miguel lager and Somersby cider.

The mini fan village remains ever popular, this week with the weather set to be fair, Ice Cream Joe joins the usual favourites of; No.7 Coffee House Mobile Truck and The Cocktail Box, alongside the Dunster House Bar and Burger & Sausage Hut.

There are three other food outlets on site; the new catering unit by the main gates, Taylor’s Kitchen at the Scrum Bar and the Peckish hatch at the Burrow (this unit opens after kick off).

PLEASE NOTE: The Scrum Bar will close shortly after the final whistle for the players post-match function.

Blues Foundation Activation

This weekend’s Guard of Honour, sponsored by Bellway Homes, will be Bletchley U10s. Make sure to give them a cheer as they step out onto the pitch to form the pre-match tunnel.

Club Shop
