MATCH FOCUS | Women prepare for maiden away voyage
![]()
Bedford Blues Women will be looking to take their recent inspired home form with them when they make a first away journey of the new season across to St Neots on Sunday (KO 2pm).
Confidence is as high as it could possibly be for Eddie Rennell and Peter Frost’s side at the moment, and they’ll be looking to continue their upwards trajectory when they face a familiar foe.
Big Game Preview
Another early opportunity for Blues Women to stake a claim for promotion as they look to maintain their perfect record in all competitions to start the 23/24 campaign.
But don’t write St Neots off who are notoriously strong at home. They will be desperate to avenge their defeat at Goldington Road three weeks ago.
What follows this early title clash?
This game kickstarts a hectic schedule for the side as they prepare to contest four fixtures across the next five weekends. The tests don’t come any easier following Sunday’s away venture, as they head out onto the road again next week to face Stamford in knockout cup competition.
Home comforts in November see them hosting Buckingham Swans Ladies II (Sunday 5th) then Harpenden (Sunday 19th). A further two fixtures in December conclude the calendar year.
Opposition Analysis
A side with a point to prove after a frustrating start to the current campaign, St Neots are still working through their transition of losing a lot of key, influential figures over the Summer.
They haven’t played since defeat at Goldington Road, receiving a home walkover victory against Hitchin last weekend.
