MATCH FOCUS | Christmas Derby Day this Saturday
Bedford Blues will be looking to sign off 2023 on the perfect footing when they make the short trip down the B530 to take on neighbours Ampthill at The Olney Field on Saturday (KO 1:30pm).

All form goes out the window on Derby Day with Ampthill in particular looking to exact revenge following three successive Bedford victories in this fixture over the past 18 months.
Both sides have made a solid start to the league campaign with this the final opportunity to rise into an even stronger position heading into Christmas Day. With bragging rights on the line, and a fourth Festive meeting in the past five years, expect another battle for the ages in-front of a sellout attendance.
We’ve Met Before
For two teams separated by so few miles, it’s somewhat of a surprise to have such little history throughout the years with all the previous meetings coming in the past few years.
Following Bedford’s victory in the Premiership Cup clash earlier this season, they lead the series for the first time in history with a 5-4 lead to defend on Saturday when looking exclusively at league and cup contests.
Ampthill will be looking to make it honours even this matchday.
