MATCH FOCUS | Double Header v Cambridge
History will be made on Saturday as Bedford Blues and Bedford Blues Women both compete on the same day as each other for the first time, taking on Cambridge at Ellgia Fields (Women’s KO 12pm; Men’s KO 3pm).

Big Game Previews
With the race for the Championship’s Top Four really hotting up in recent weeks, Mike Rayer’s side will be desperate to return to winning ways and solidify themselves in the top echelons of the division.
This is a first competitive away meeting with Cambridge, and just a third overall following two Bedford home wins; one earlier this season and the other way back in 1979. Blues will be looking to maintain their perfect record in those previous clashes this Saturday.
While no league points are at stake in the earlier women’s match, Eddie Rennell and Peter Frost will be allowing no let ups as Blues Women look to continue the imperious form they’ve carried all season.
Cambridge Women are undefeated in their NC3 Division but have received multiple walkovers this season and have only contested one fixture this calendar year. Our Women’s side will therefore hope their enhanced match experience will stand them in good stead come kick-off.
Travel to support both senior sides
Want to be in attendance for the historic afternoon? There are still spaces on the Bedford Rugby Followers Association coaches heading to Ellgia Fields, priced at just £10 per seat.
