MATCH FOCUS | Ladies Day returns on Saturday

Posted: 18th March 2024

It’s time to dress Goldington Road pink this Saturday as Ladies Day festivities return when Bedford Blues host Caldy in Championship action (Gates Open 12pm; KO 3pm).

A special £15 Ground Entry ticket is available to all ladies for Saturday’s game when purchased online only; while the usual £4 online discount remains for all other adults. Buy tickets here.

Big Game Preview

After an important victory on Derby Day at Cambridge, Mike Rayer’s side will be looking to strengthen their Top Four ambitions by making it back-to-back league successes on home soil.

Caldy are winless on the road since December, but having never tasted success at Goldington Road, they will be looking to make history by spoiling the party!

Sue Ryder St John’s Hospice Support Ladies Day

Blues will be raising money for our newly selected charity partner, Sue Ryder St John’s Hospice. As a charity close to many people’s hearts locally, we hope to raise another significant amount.

A new temporary marquee will be erected outside the entrance to the CMC Marquee offering supporters a feast of additional treats with stalls from local Bedfordshire businesses, plus pre-match all ladies can enjoy a complimentary glass of bubbly, thanks to Carlsberg Marston’s.

Fifth Avenue return with beauty treatments, alongside stall holders; Scentsy, Patisserie Sheree, In Full Bloom, Holly’s Happy Ever After Face Painting, Her Game Too and a special #BluesFamily stall.

The customary shirt auction will take place from 6pm with the full team. This year will see select jerseys up for grabs; with the rest able to be snapped up via the silent auction. Click here for details.

There will be a raffle, auction and bucket collection as usual, whilst all Eco Cup donations will also go to Sue Ryder.

Food, Drink and Entertainment

With another large attendance anticipated, head to the ground early to avoid the queues and sample everything on offer. Grab a programme from the gates and visit one of our seven public bars; including the upstairs Rebel Bar, serving our full offering, including all three real ales.

Elsewhere, those looking for a speedy pint can try Swipestation in the Scrum Bar, enjoy traditional surroundings of the Former Players Bar or visit any of the external bars around the ground.

The mini fan village remains ever popular with the usual offering of No.7 Coffee House Mobile Truck and The Cocktail Box (also selling San Miguel and Somersby cans plus soft drinks), alongside the Dunster House Bar and Burger & Sausage Hut.

Elsewhere there are two other food outlets available next to the front gates and from Taylor’s Kitchen serving hatch at the Scrum Hall.

After the match, head to The Rebel Bar for the continuation of ‘Final Whistle’ featuring the Man of the Match interview with Sam Roberts or straight into the CMC Marquee with live music from familiar favourites, Mark Calder and Cameo Williams who perform prior to the auction.

Blues Foundation Activation

Make sure to show your support to our Bellway Homes Guard of Honour, this week formed of Towcestrians and Junior Blues, as they step out onto the field just before kick-off.
