Eddie Rennell and Peter Frost have named their side as Bedford Blues Women look to make it a clean sweep of league victories as they prepare to bring the curtain down on a fantastic season tomorrow (KO 2pm).
Tickets from just £2 for the game at Goldington Road; join us for the title party!
After 11 league victories from as many games so far this campaign, Blues Women go for league invincibility tomorrow, backed by a raucous Goldington Road crowd.
The league title trophy is in the building, and the medals are being polished ready for the post-game party, but they've still got an intriguing contest to overcome first before the celebrations can get into full swing.
They will be strong favourites at Goldington Road but will not underestimate the challenge of Stockwood Park who will be determined to spoil the party and keep their own Top Four ambitions alive.
As the team prepare to bring the curtain down on a second promotion campaign from just three attempts, four changes are made compared to the Starting XV which took to the field in friendly action against Cambridge last weekend.
Hanah Donovan is in from the off in the front row, one of three changes in the forwards pack as Kelly Hodgson returns to her familiar second row spot having missed out last week, and perennial try scorer Heidi Lawson - who got two in the reverse fixture v Stockwood - slots in at openside.
The backs division has stayed pretty consistent all season - this time around, Esme Fish is reinstated to the scrum half jersey to partner captain Lucy Middleton in the half-backs.
Joint Head Coach, Frost said: "Firstly, I just wanted to say a massive thank you to all the travelling support last weekend at Cambridge - it was absolutely incredible. We hope everyone enjoyed the final try thanks to the 15 player maul, something we'd worked on in training!
"We are looking forward to running out at Goldington Road tomorrow. We are all fully aware of the presentations and excitement towards the party after the game to celebrate a great season, but we've got to get past Stockwood Park first before even contemplating any of that.
"They are a side not to be underestimated with a number of hard runners that will stress our defence. We have to be focussed for 80 minutes and then we can think about celebrating with the fans who have so loyally supported us this season."
