Howard wins coveted Players’ Player
Joe Howard has concluded a fantastic debut season at Goldington Road in the perfect fashion by taking home the most coveted award from the Bedford Blues End of Season Gala Dinner having won Players’ Player of the Year.
It completes a remarkable campaign for the back row forward following some strong performances in 2023/24, chipping in with five tries from 20 appearances.
He has received four inclusions into the Championship Clubs Podcast Team of the Week, and you’d have thought would be in with a shout of Team of the Season when the time comes to decide following the final game of the campaign.
Howard was Blues’ ‘Ironman’ for the majority of the season, that being the player on the field for the most minutes in the season, before injury curtailed the middle part of his campaign.
Securing the award – which is voted for after every game by the men’s squad – is a huge accolade having received the votes from your peers thanks to impressive performances on the pitch.
Howard joins an illustrious list of names to win the award in previous years, including Will Maisey and Tui Uru who were the winners in the past two editions.
