MATCH FOCUS | London’s calling for penultimate game
After last weekend’s dramatic heroics on home soil, Bedford Blues will be looking to take momentum on their travels as they head to London Scottish for their penultimate league fixture this Saturday (KO 3pm).

Saturday’s victory over Doncaster has increased Blues’ lead in the battle for the Top Four to seven points over the Yorkshire side, and with just two games remaining, that means one more victory will mathematically confirm the position for Mike Rayer’s side.
They will need to be on their mettle to get it done this weekend, however, as they head on the road for the first of two upcoming trips to London to face a Scottish side who are improving week on week and themselves climbing the table.
Bryan Redpath’s troops defeated Bedford on home soil last season in the Championship Cup, and head into the game off three wins in four matches. The RAG hasn’t been the happiest of hunting grounds in recent seasons for Blues with two defeats to Richmond in recent times as well.
We’ve Met Before
An extremely historic fixture, with close to 90 years of drama and excitement, Bedford Blues and London Scottish will meet for the 85th time on Saturday.
They have always been competitive games, with neither side ever really holding too much ascendency in the fixture since a first meeting in March 1935.
However, Blues have picked up some important results recently and currently lead 42 wins to Scottish’s 39, while there have been a further three draws. Most notably, Director of Rugby, Mike Rayer celebrated his 500th game in charge of Bedford against Scottish back in April 2022.
