Bedford Blues are delighted to announce that Bedford based construction company, SDC will remain as main sponsors for the next three seasons after renewing their generous backing of the club.
Back in 2022, and to celebrate their 50th year of business, SDC became main sponsors for the very first time, increasing their level of support after over four decades as loyal partners.
This saw SDC feature as front of shirt sponsors on all men’s playing jerseys, among many other activations. In a partnership that is far stronger than just financial support, Bedford Blues are grateful for the ongoing level of support.
Bedford Blues Chief Operating Officer, Gareth Alred said: “We are indebted to the support of SDC, they have been terrific to us for many years. This latest agreement gives us further security for the next three years, but more than that we are proud to include the team at SDC as part of the Blues Family.
“I would like to extend a personal thanks to Adam, Francis and David, they are a pleasure to work with and we look forward to seeing SDC splashed across our new jerseys.”
Twelve months ago, the Club announced that all men’s, women’s and junior’s playing jerseys would share the same design for the very first time and SDC were one of the main supporters of the idea. Taking sleeve positions on the remaining two, alongside pride of position of the men’s.
Established in 1972, SDC are one of the club’s most long-standing sponsors having begun their support of Bedford Blues 44 years ago under co-founders Bob Reynolds and Dave Ledsom (who later became Bedford Blues’ Chairman) to give something back to the town and its community.
Retaining headquarters in Bedford since inception, as well as broadening their horizons further afield, SDC have been incredible supporters of the Blues over that time with the relationship further growing in recent years through sponsorship and various building projects at Goldington Road.
SDC Managing Director, Adam Knaggs added: “We are delighted to be able to continue our support of the Blues for the next three years. The club has always been close to our hearts, and we are already looking forward to enjoying the rugby at Goldington Road when the new season begins.”
