Luke Frost re-signs for 2024/25
Bedford Blues are pleased to celebrate Luke Frost’s birthday with the announcement that the 27-year-old has extended his stay at Goldington Road into the 2024/25 Championship campaign.
An ever present in the team since he joined the ranks in the Summer of 2021, Frost has been one of the most dependable operators in the second tier for some time and will now head into a fourth campaign as a member of the #BluesFamily.
The 22/23 Followers Player of the Year currently holds statistics of 70 appearances, scoring seven tries.
On continuing his spell at Goldington Road once again next season, Frost said: “Delighted to be staying at Bedford for another season, easy decision for me.
"We created some pretty special memories last season and we want to build on that again in 2024/25. Be great to see everyone down supporting us again as we look to do it all again."
Frost has proven his versatility during his time at the club by wearing both second row and flanker jerseys when required, and has become one of the first names on the team sheet with consistent and powerful performances.
He benefitted from a short loan spell at current Premiership Champions, Northampton Saints in 2021/22, and has consistently honed his craft at Goldington Road – ending the 22/23 campaign as Blues’ ‘Ironman’ having spent the most minutes on the field that season.
Previous stints at London Scottish and Nottingham mean he has played well over 100 Championship games, with another 50 in National One following time spent at Loughborough University.
He was a product of the London Irish Academy set-up before moving into senior rugby.
On retaining Frost as part of the squad next season, Director of Rugby, Mike Rayer commented: “I can’t speak highly enough of guys like Luke. Ever since he arrived here, he’s been brilliant to work with.
“He puts it all out there on the field, very durable, and been extremely consistent in his performances. He never drops his standards too much, and you get a great 80 minutes out of him every single week.
“We have to manage that on occasions just in terms of the workload but for us, having players of that calibre around the group is worth its weight in gold.”
