After impressive victories for both sides on opening weekend, another high octane clash is expected with important league positioning at stake at Goldington Road.
Blues Women will still have a few scars from their two defeats to Peterborough in 22/23, but have the perfect opportunity to show just how much they have developed in the past 12/18 months when they take to the field for the third ever meeting between the sides.
A loud and passionate home support could make all the difference on matchday.
What follows the clash of the titans?
The fixtures are coming thick and fast with this the second of three successive home fixtures, with Eddie Rennell’s side concluding the month back in Bedford by welcoming Shelford in the first round of the Papa Johns Community Cup (Sun 29 Sep). With a few walking wounded from the fantastic display against Ipswich last weekend, there may be a few tweaks to the Matchday 22 ahead of this Sunday. Full confirmation will follow from 10am on Friday.
Opposition Analysis
Peterborough Ladies are somewhat of a nemesis to Bedford following the convincing league and cup double two seasons ago. They were promoted at the end of that season as invincibles, something Blues mirrored 12 months later, and had a solid debut NC1 campaign last time out.
They have started the season like a juggernaut again, defeating Bletchley 79-0 last weekend.
