Both sides head into the game following respective 45-19 victories on opening weekend.
Butts Park hasn’t been the happiest of hunting grounds with a winless streak stretching back to 2008, Blues’ longest against any other Championship competitor.
To break the streak, Blues will have to overcome Alex Rae’s charges who have again started the season in fine form with a thumping victory over London Scottish last weekend.
We’ve Met Before
Bedford have only faced Northampton Saints (213) on more occasions than Coventry, with the two old rivals contesting 188 previous encounters since a first meeting in 1894. Coventry hold the better record overall with 114 victories to Bedford’s 62, while there have been 12 draws.
Blues have come out on top in the two most notable meetings, however, securing a 13-6 RFU Club Competition Semi-Final victory at Goldington Road in 1975 on their way to national trophy success, alongside the thrilling 15-try 53-52 success in January 2019.
In the last two years, the teams have met on six occasions, averaging 56.1 points per fixture in that time.
