MATCH FOCUS | Ladies Day returns on Saturday
![]()
It’s time to dress Goldington Road pink this Saturday as Ladies Day festivities return when Bedford Blues host Doncaster Knights in Championship action (Gates Open 12pm; KO 3pm).
A special £15 Ground Entry ticket is available to all ladies for Saturday’s game when purchased online; while the usual £4 online discount remains for all other adults. Buy tickets here.
Big Game Preview
After back-to-back last-minute victories against Hartpury and Cornish Pirates in recent weeks, Mike Rayer’s side will be looking to maintain momentum on home soil, but will face a stern test from the visiting Knights.
Joe Ford’s Yorkshiremen have found life on the road easier so far this term, including a victory at the reigning champions, Ealing, two weeks ago, and will be looking to spoil the party at Goldington Road as they hunt promotion.
Sue Ryder St John’s Hospice Fundraising
For the second year in succession, Blues will be raising money for Sue Ryder St John’s Hospice based in Moggerhanger. As a charity close to many people’s hearts locally, we hope to raise another significant amount after a record Ladies Day donation back in March.
Visit the CMC Marquee on matchday; offering supporters a feast of additional treats with stalls from local businesses; featuring cakes, cookies, sweets, gin and fizz bar, plus more. Pre-match all ladies can enjoy a complimentary glass of rosé prosecco, thanks to Carlsberg Marston’s.
The customary shirt auction will take place from 6pm with the full team. This year, select jerseys will be up for grabs; with the rest able to be snapped up via the silent auction. Click here for info.
While sadly Fifth Avenue are unable to offer treatments this year, they have sponsored a ‘Promise Tree’ located inside our largest hospitality venue with huge prizes to be won from places such as Amici, New Bombay, Claytons, Beauty of Bedford and more.
There will be a raffle and bucket collection as usual, please also consider donating your Eco Cup to Sue Ryder. Raffle to be drawn after the live auction.
Additional Entertainment
With another large crowd expected, we’re pulling out all the stops to ensure everyone has a great matchday experience at the home of Bedford’s premier sporting club.
The Rebel Bar Final Whistle Man of the Match interview remains, alongside live coverage of West Ham v Tottenham (KO 12:30pm) and Harlequins v Bath (KO 17:30) for those looking to focus on the sporting world.
Before and after the live auction, fan favourite Cameo Williams will perform on the mic to kickstart the celebrations in the marquee. And for the very first time, pink pyrotechnics will welcome the teams onto the field pre-game.
Food and Drink
Head to the ground early to avoid the queues and sample everything on offer, with additional food & drink provision available at this game. Grab a programme on entry and visit one of our seven public bars; including the upstairs Rebel Bar or Former Players Bar for quieter surroundings.
Those looking for a speedy pint of Poretti or Wainwright’s Amber can try something different this match as we partner with SwiftPour. This new system fills from the bottom up and will operate contactless only from the Mini Fan Village and the Chalet Bar next to The Burrow.
The Scrum Bar and CMC Marquee are operating as normal, as are our four hot food outlets located around the ground, including Chicken George’s serving hatch and Taylor’s Kitchen plus two other food units.
Blues Foundation Activation
Make sure to show your support to our Bellway Homes Guard of Honour, this week formed of our Bedford Junior Blues Girls section, as they step out onto the field just before kick-off.
Please support our pitchside team and allow a swift flow of the action on the hallowed turf by returning match balls kicked outside the playing area as soon as possible. Those caught keeping match balls will be asked to leave.
Final Call Hospitality
LAST CHANCE! Enjoy all the action from the best views in the ground with availability in our premium Dovecote Park Suite for three-course dining or The Burrow at the Blues for a one-course street food menu with Chicken George and private bar.
Club Shop
Pink bobblehats in time for Ladies Day! Many new Gilbert items launching from this matchday; open from one hour before KO, half-time and post-game. Wear your colours with pride!
