One of the most historic fixtures in club history, Bedford Blues and Coventry have been battling it out since 1894 with this the 190th game between the pair who have started this season in fine form once again.
Deadlocked on 38 points in the Championship table, they are separated by a points differential of just +15 with similar points for and against and an identical record of eight wins and three defeats from the first half of the league schedule.
It’s anticipated to be a matter of fine margins at Goldington Road as the two best supported teams in the second tier look for a positive result. Read more details in our online matchday programme available now!
Ahead of the game, Rayer makes four changes to the side which battled hard to victory on Derby Day just six days previously.
Two of those alterations come in the forwards pack as Joe Howard and Cameron King are restored to the back row.
In the backs division, club captain Alex Day is ready to start this time around having made a return from injury off the bench last weekend, while Alfie Garside has shaken off a shoulder problem to be included on the right wing.
Among the replacements, Blues are further boosted by the returns of James Fish and Jac Arthur.
Oisin Heffernan will lead the team out on the occasion of his 50th club appearance.
