Big Game Preview

Mike Rayer prepares to face the Cornishmen for the 50th time in his coaching career this weekend, as his Bedford charges hunt a rare league double over the Pirates, after a nail-biting victory at The Mennaye back in October.

Pirates set sail as one of the league’s form sides, looking to back up their runners-up spot in the Championship last season against current second placed side, Bedford. The away side has triumphed in this fixture on each of the last three instalments so a loud #BluesFamily could make the difference.

Food, Drink and Entertainment

This matchday, there’s more service provision than ever before with seven public bars and five hot food stalls on offer. Grab a programme from gates opening and settle in for a full day of rugby; our pre-match pick remains the quieter surroundings of The Rebel Bar.

Elsewhere, enjoy traditional surroundings of the Former Players Bar, the infamous Scrum Bar or visit any of the external bars around the ground and in full view of the hallowed turf.

For this game, we’re also pleased to be joined by local favourites, Etna Woodfired Pizzas, open from kick-off until late. Located next to the club shop, you can order pizza post-game whilst enjoying live music in the CMC Marquee or grab a takeaway for the walk home.

Our usual foodie favourites of Chicken George, Taylor’s Kitchen and The Burger & Sausage Huts remain available. The mini fan village remains ever popular and is back to full capacity this weekend with the usual offering of No.7 Coffee House Mobile Truck, alongside bar, food and unisex toilet facilities.

Post-game, head to The Rebel Bar for the continuation of ‘Final Whistle’ featuring the Man of the Match with MC Sam Roberts, or straight to the marquee for live music from Rob ‘Le Tash’ Bartlett.

If you’re looking for more rugby, there’s live coverage of Gloucester v Bristol Bears on the TVs around the ground and in The Burrow (KO 5:30pm).

Blues Foundation Guard of Honour

This week’s Guard of Honour, sponsored by Bellway Homes, will be formed from representatives of St Mary’s Primary School and touring side, Wilmslow RFC. Make sure you give them a cheer as they step out onto the pitch to form the pre-match entrance.

Club Shop

Open from two hours before KO, half-time and post-game; browse the full collection from replicas to leisurewear, coffee cups to beanies and wear your colours. There are also new items, including hooped scarves, player issue coats and Gilbert keyrings.

Hospitality

Saturday’s fixture is a complete hospitality sellout yet again! And there’s extremely limited availability for our remaining fixtures, so contact us ASAP to avoid disappointment!
