Friends of the Blues Cheque Presentation

The Friends of the Blues further showcased their support of the Club with a generous £22,000 cheque presentation at Bedford Blues’ last home fixture against Cornish Pirates.

The latest donation takes the total overall amount fundraised to £300,000. The club are indebted for the continued backing of a loyal band of supporters.

This recent contribution has been used to support specific rugby projects, medical provision in the shape of a new Game Ready machine and a healthy contribution towards an exciting new project to build an elevated and covered wheelchair area – further details to be announced very soon.

Bedford Blues Chief Operating Officer, Gareth Alred said: “We are extremely grateful to the Friends of the Blues for another generous donation which has enabled us to provide additional resources to support the rugby department, as well as looking towards the future with new projects.

“The FoB have been one of the driving forces behind our new accessibility project for wheelchair users, and whilst there have been some delays, we are delighted to start work on this when the season finishes.

“It’s important to also note and thank the efforts of Andy Barwell and the FoB Committee. Howard Travis had done a superb job in running the organisation for many years, and it was a hard mantle to take forward, but it’s clear to see the progress they are making and future planning already being undertaken.”
