Big Game Preview
After disappointing results last weekend, two sides with attacking intent will be looking to get back to winning ways as quickly as possible to strengthen their respective quests for a Top Four Championship finish.
Games between the pair are usually high scoring – averaging 64 points in battles at Goldington Road post-Covid – and with so much to keep you entertained off the field, they’ll be looking to put on a suitable spectacle as the main event.
Team News and exciting Head 2 Heads to be announced on Friday at noon.
Parkinsons UK Activation
With Friday being World Parkinsons Day, we’re delighted to be teaming up with the Bedford & District Support Group this matchday to raise vital funds and awareness for a fantastic charity.
Speak to a Parkinsons UK volunteer on the day to learn more about the support available locally, with familiar bucket collections around the ground. Please also consider donating your Eco Cup to the fundraising total.
Rock Choir Perform Live
The largest contemporary choir in the world will be arriving en masse this Saturday!
With two performances planned, firstly 2:15-2:45pm and then again on the pitch at half-time, we are grateful to Rock Choir for showing their support as part of Parkinsons UK’s festivities.
PLEASE NOTE: The tiered standing terracing area situated between the M&J Group Stand and the Followers Hut will be cordoned off to accommodate Rock Choir.
Additional Entertainment
With another large crowd expected, we’re pulling out all the stops to ensure everyone has a great matchday experience at the home of Bedford’s premier sporting club.
On the TVs there will be live coverage of France v Wales in the Women’s Six Nations (all venues from 12pm) before Northampton Saints’ European adventure continues v Castres Olympique (Burrow at the Blues only on a first come first served basis – 5:30pm).
Elsewhere, the CMC Marquee is again the place to visit post-match with live music well into the evening from the returning, Jodie Erica. Or head to the upstairs bar immediately after the game for the Final Whistle Man of the Match interview with Sam Roberts.
Cup Anniversaries Remembered
In the CMC Marquee this Saturday, we’ll be marking the 50th anniversary of the RFU Club Competition victory and subsequent tour to Canada, welcoming multiple members of the squad back to their former stomping ground for the FPA Spring Luncheon.
Saturday also marks 20 years to the day since the Blues last lifted a trophy at Twickenham following victory over Plymouth Albion in the Powergen Shield. Stay tuned to our social media channels on Thursday for memories from the day, including a feature interview with captain, Matt Allen.
Food & Drink
Head to the ground early to avoid the queues and sample all on offer, with a packed matchday schedule. That means there’s seven public places to get a pint and five hot food kiosks, so take a wander around and try them all. Checkout the ground map below for locations.
Etna Woodfired Pizzas are back, joining Chicken George, Taylor’s Kitchen and two Burger & Sausage huts to satisfy that food craving. While traditional locations such as the Scrum Bar and Rebel Bar are in normal operation, why not also try any of the external pitch facing external bars.
The Mini Fan Village is once again packed to the rafters with No.7 Coffee House Mobile Truck offering the hot drink options. In this area you can also find the University of Bedfordshire who will be gifting away promotional gifts and information on all their opportunities.
Blues Foundation Guard of Honour
This week’s Guard of Honour, sponsored by Bellway Homes, will be formed of Bedford Junior Blues U10s, fresh from their recent Easter tour in Bognor Regis. Make sure you give them a cheer as they step out onto the pitch to form the pre-match entrance.
Club Shop
