Mike Rayer has named his squad as Bedford Blues continue their sprint finish to the conclusion of the 2024/25 Championship campaign with a trip to the title favourites, Ealing Trailfinders tomorrow (KO 3pm).

On paper it’s a battle of the top two, after Blues ascended up the table following last week’s win, but an altogether different test to anything else experienced in the Championship against the high-flying table toppers.
There aren’t too many times this season that Blues can consider themselves underdogs, and while they have tasted success at Trailfinders Sports Club in recent seasons, only Doncaster have managed to take the spoils against Ben Ward’s team in league action this term.
A real litmus test but one Blues will go into with gusto and Rayer has elected to make three changes to the Starting XV from the one which returned to winning ways against Nottingham.
Fyn Brown is back for a first start in Blues colours for three months, with his inclusion at blindside seeing Luke Frost moving further forward and partnering Rory Ward in the second row.
Alfie Garside is handed the starting right-wing jersey in the only change to the backs division.
Among the replacements, Jamie Jack is in line for his 50th club appearance having only missed one matchday since joining the club in the Summer of 2023.
Bedford Blues Starting XV:
15. Louis James, 14. Alfie Garside, 13. Lucas Titherington, 12. Michael Le Bourgeois, 11. Dean Adamson, 10. Will Maisey, 9. Alex Day (C); 1. Joey Conway, 2. Tommy Herman, 3. Oisin Heffernan, 4. Luke Frost, 5. Rory Ward, 6. Fyn Brown, 7. Joe Howard, 8. Fred Tuilagi
