WHATS ON | Foundation Day Saturday
There’s more than just rugby to keep you entertained once through the turnstiles on Saturday as we host a Blues Foundation Day Double Header with Bedford Blues facing London Scottish, followed by the Women v Hertfordshire (KO 3pm & 5:45pm).
Set to be the charity’s biggest fundraising day of the year, we are excited for the potential Saturday can bring as our charitable arm celebrates five years since inception.
Blues Foundation Manager, Tom Harwood said: “The upcoming Foundation Day is an incredibly important event to help continue awareness of Blues Foundation’s life-changing work, as well as raising funds so we can continue to make a lasting change to people’s lives.
“We support some of the country’s most vulnerable people, those who need additional guidance, and children within mainstream schools. We help these young people to enjoy learning, re-engage with education, pass exams, find employment and improve their social and emotional wellbeing.”
B&W Waste Management Half Time – Beat The Bear!
In partnership with our match sponsors, a uniquely designed obstacle course ‘Beat The Bear’ competition will take place on the hallowed turf as the half-time entertainment of Bedford Blues v London Scottish.
Community Socks
Replicating scenes from a couple of years back against Jersey Reds, all men’s players will wear socks from local community clubs during the game.
Clubs including Bedford Queens, Stockwood Park, Cantabs and more are already involved, and there’s still chance to join in the fun on Saturday! Contact tomb@bluesfoundation.org.uk ASAP if you would like your club’s socks involved on the day.
Guard of Honour
This week’s Guard of Honour, sponsored by Bellway Homes, will be formed of Diss RFC, Wymondham RFC and St Andrews RFC who are all heading to GR on tour. Make sure you give them a cheer as they step out onto the pitch to form the pre-match entrance and unveil a new Blues Family flag!
There will also be bucket collections dotted around the ground, hospitality guests can support via pre-match games, and all Eco Cup donations will also go to the charity.
