James Fish re-signs for 25/26
Bedford Blues can today confirm more continuity in the forwards pack with the news that James Fish has committed for a second season as a full-time member of the #BluesFamily.
One of the senior figureheads in this year’s front row union, Fish has battled through injury to make 15 appearances, including an important try in the late victory over Coventry back in January.
Fish, who went through the 50-appearance barrier earlier this campaign, has now made 60 in total across his time at Goldington Road, chipping in with seven scores in that timeframe.
Speaking about his decision to stay in Bedford, Fish said: “We’ve had such a great year, there’s a good group of boys and coaches so this was always going to be my first choice.
"We've been very cohesive as a team this year and what we've put onto the training pitch we've been able to put on at the weekend - and we've improved every week.
"If we do finish second that would be great, but it's going to be an incredibly tough campaign in 25/26. There'll be teams making big signings such as Donny, Worcester so it'll be real competitive.... but rest assured we'll be going for the top spots again."
A highly experienced player, having spent several years at current Premiership Champions, Northampton Saints, the 28-year-old has relished the chance of becoming one of the leaders in the pack by offering tutelage to Tommy Herman and the youngsters heading over from Northampton throughout the season.
He has also featured for Ampthill and Cornish Pirates during his career, which recently passed through 150 competitive appearances at senior level.
