Fly Half Tom Price moves to Goldington Road
Bedford Blues continue their squad assembling for 2025/26 Champ Rugby with further depth in the backs division as Tom Price returns to England to move to Goldington Road.
The 25-year-old has spent the past season at Biella over in Italy, helping the side to win promotion into the Serie A division for the first time in club history – scoring two tries as part of their comeback win in the final against Parabiago.
A highly experienced fly half having plied his trade in four different countries, Price provides ideal competition to the backline, working predominantly alongside Will Maisey.
On agreeing to join for the new season, Price said: “When there was the opportunity to come to Bedford, it was exactly what I was looking for. It’s a club I’ve always held in high regard, with a lot of history.
“I’m really excited by the challenge, it seems a great environment, and a no brainer to join up for next season. At this stage in my career, I really want to push on in my career and there’s a great opportunity to work with Will Maisey next season.
“Someone like myself, I’d like to come in and learn as much off him as I can while also putting my stance on things when given the opportunity to do so. I know it’s not going to be easy; I’m going to have to work hard for it, but that’s what is exciting. I work best when I have something to aim for and hopefully that brings the best out of myself and the team as well.
“The main thing for me is that it’s a pleasure to be involved. I can’t wait to get started and while supporters might not know who I am now, hopefully I can add to the environment and become better known at Bedford across the season.”
Bristolian Price began his career at local club side, Cleve RFC before progressing into the Academy set-up at Bristol Bears.
He crossed the border for some time at Newport RFC, before spells at Dings Crusaders, Chinnor and Hartpury University afforded his first experience of life in the Championship.
Following a well-trodden path, Price played a season in Australia participating in the Shute Shield with Sydney based, Gordon; then spending the most recent campaign near the Swiss border.
Bedford Blues would like to thank Bedford Battery for their player sponsorship of Price.
