Lucas Titherington re-signs for 25-26

Posted: 6th June 2025

Bedford Blues conclude their final week of re-signings with the news that Lucas Titherington has agreed to spend a second season at Goldington Road for 25/26 Champ Rugby.

The 25-year-old arrived in Bedford 12 months ago following a short stint in the Shute Shield over in Australia, and has become an integral part of the backs division, making 27 appearances in his debut campaign and scoring seven tries.

On committing his future to the club, Titherington said: “We had a good time last year, winning became a bit of a habit and we want that to continue in the next campaign. With the play-offs coming in, it’s all to play for.

“It’s only natural that you want to go one better than the previous year, and we know how tough it’s going to be. But there’s no reason why we can’t aspire to those sorts of targets.

“Thank you to our #BluesFamily for all the support last season, everyone looks forward to the home games and you’ve been brilliant at getting behind us. You can tell that even away teams enjoy playing here in-front of such a big crowd and we hope you continue to back us again.”

A fierce competitor, Titherington began his senior rugby with Northumbria University in the BUCS Super Rugby pathway while completing a Business Management degree, also making a few Newcastle Falcons ‘A’ outings.

He joined Caldy straight out of university and was an ever present in the side which gained promotion to the Championship for the first time in the Wirral club’s history by winning National One in 2021/22.

Coventry was his next port of call where he made 29 appearances across two seasons, heading to West Harbour Pirates in Sydney for a different life experience, before finding a new home at Goldington Road.

Titherington has become the latest player to sign up to our #BluesFamily for 2025/26 – will you follow suit? Season Tickets still available with Early Bird prices extended until the end of the month. Click here to purchase yours now.

Blues would like to thank Eagle Travel for their continued player sponsorship of Titherington.
