MATCH FOCUS | Opener v Blackheath for Deano Testimonial
Bedford Blues ramp up for the 2025/26 campaign by hosting National One outfit, Blackheath in their first home fixture of the season this Friday (Gates open 5pm; Kick Off 8pm).
The game doubles as ‘Deano Testimonial Match’ as the club’s greatest ever try scorer begins his year of celebration. More details on how to support our iconic number 11 can be found below.

Big Game Preview
Mike Rayer will field an enlarged squad, featuring many new summer arrivals, this Friday under the lights at Goldington Road as the home faithful get the chance to meet fresh faces in blue.
Under the late summer sun, expect the team to try some new moves and patterns as preparations for the new season are put into practice.
Lining up for Blackheath this week are likely to be previous members of this parish, Jordan Burns, Oskar Hirskyj-Douglas and Andrew Boye, as well as a smattering of previous Championship players.
Club, as they are affectionately known, are also kickstarting their pre-season campaign at GR ahead of a potential promotion push to Champ Rugby this time around.

Head to the ground early from gates opening at 5pm to sample everything we have to offer!
All venues around the ground will be open, excluding the CMC Marquee, which is closed for this match only. That means there’s still plenty of places to beat the queues and enjoy the return of rugby with a drink in hand – with a former favourite beer returning to the taps!
With the warm weather continuing, Ice Cream Joe will be joining us in the Mini Fan Village, plus there’s four hot food offerings dotted around the ground, including Chicken George, Taylor’s Kitchen and the usual kiosks.
There is no live music post-game this Friday, but please stick around to either mix with the players on the pitch after the final whistle, enjoy a beer outside at any of the bars or cram into the Burrow for a live auction with Sam Roberts and Dean Adamson.
Bedford Blues Supporters Club
Launching this Friday, the newly formed Bedford Blues Supporters Club will have a station on the stage in the Scrum and be visible around the ground. This Friday they are supporting Deano Testimonial by running a raffle for him, please support if you can with great prizes to win! Stick around after the match as Dean Adamson draws the winners on pitch after the final whistle.
Blues Foundation Activation
This week’s Guard of Honour, sponsored by Bellway Homes, will be formed of Bedford Junior Blues and Ampthill minis set-up, Dean’s two junior clubs. Make sure to give them a cheer as they step out onto the pitch for the pre-match tunnel.
