REPORT | Blues win Deano Testimonial Match
Dean Adamson scored on his Testimonial Match as Bedford Blues kickstarted their 2025/26 campaign with a 54-35 victory over Blackheath at Goldington Road.
While it was the vintage display that the Goldington Road faithful had become used to in the previous 24/25 campaign - when Mike Rayer's men finished the campaign with the best home record in the division - it was still a useful exercise for the team as they begun their four game pre-season schedule.
For the second successive year, things kicked off with a visit from National One outfit, Blackheath who were again more than worthy opponents and caused a few problems that will have Blues on alert in the video review room.
But their Champ Rugby pedigree shone through in the end to run in eight tries - including first in Blues colours for George Worth, Ryan Apps and Billy Pasco.
Tommy Herman has been a revelation again in the front row during pre-season training and he maintained his purple patch with a brace, while Kayde Sylvester and Fred Tuilagi also got in on the act to add to Adamson's magic moment.
Attentions quickly turn to new challenges with a trip to Penzance to come to conclude August, before silverware is on the line twice in Spetember against Northampton Saints (5 Sep) and Ampthill (20 Sep). Buy tickets here.
