Big Game Preview

With this the 20th competitive meeting between the sides since 2019, there isn’t too much for either side to learn about the other. All form goes out of the window on Derby Day, with the added spice of more than just local bragging rights at stake this time around.

Blues have started to turn the momentum in this fixture in recent years to take an 11-8 series lead and will need the #BluesFamily behind them again this Saturday if they are to lift the trophy.

Mike Rayer’s men will be very wary of the threat Ampthill always pose at Goldington Road, and under new Head Coach, Dave Ward, they will be looking to turn the tables. Line-ups to follow on Friday.

Food & Drink

Get behind your team right from gates opening at noon and sample all we have to offer around GR. Grab a programme and head to one of our venues on site with live Premier League football on the TVs. This matchday there are six public bars and four eateries.

The mini fan village remains the place to visit; with a new offering from No.7 Coffee House located next to the Cabin Bar and Burger Van. Alternatively head inside to enjoy the history of the Scrum Bar, Rebel Bar or Former Players Bar.

There are three other food outlets available, including a catering unit by the main gates, Taylor’s Kitchen at the Scrum serving hatch and Chicken George from The Burrow opening.

Entertainment

There’s lots to stick around for post-game, immediately after the final whistle there will be the Baker Brothers Bedfordshire Cup presentation in front of the M&J Group Stand to the winning captain.

Elsewhere, the Rebel Bar hosts the return of ‘Final Whistle’ featuring the Man of the Match interview with our matchday announcer Sam Roberts, or head straight to the CMC Marquee with live music from the returning Jodie Erica on the mic.

For those looking for more sport after the hallowed turf, checkout The Burrow at the Blues. Open on a ‘first come, first served’ policy for live coverage of the conclusion of the Women’s Rugby World Cup Semi-Final between England’s Red Roses and France, before Manchester United v Chelsea (KO 5:30pm).

Blues Foundation Activation

Saturday’s Guard of Honour, supported by Bellway Homes, will be formed of the mini & junior sections of both Bedford Junior Blues and Ampthill & District. Please give them a cheer as they step out onto the pitch to form the pre-match tunnel.

Don’t forget there’s multiple places to return your Eco Cups, including at the bars. Remember for every cup given back, the proceeds go to the club’s charitable arm, Blues Foundation, helping them continue the fantastic community work they provide across the county.

Club Shop – Wear Your Threads

The Blues will be wearing their special alternative shirt this Saturday, marking 25 years since the club was officially saved with a design celebrating our fantastic shareholders. Buy yours in the club shop on matchday.

Browse our entire leisurewear range for the 25/26 campaign, including both new jerseys, and a new photon tee-shirt range! Head in at the usual time of two hours before KO, at half-time, and following the final whistle to see what’s available.
