MATCH FOCUS | Ladies Day returns Saturday

Posted: 14th October 2025

It’s time to dress Goldington Road pink this Saturday as Ladies Day festivities return when Bedford Blues host Hartpury University in Champ Rugby action (Gates Open 12pm; KO 3pm).

A special £15 Ground Entry ticket is available to all ladies for Saturday’s game when purchased online; while the £5 online discount remains for all other adults. Buy tickets here.

Big Game Preview

After a tough start to the new season, Blues will be desperate to get back to winning ways on home soil, looking to also defend the proud Ladies Day record they have built over close to two decades unbeaten.

Hartpury come to Goldington Road in top form having accumulated maximum points so far with wins over Cornish Pirates and Worcester Warriors. They have tasted success on enemy lines before, and will be looking to spoil the party atmosphere again this weekend.

Sue Ryder St John’s Hospice Fundraising

For the third year in succession, Blues will be raising money for Sue Ryder St John’s Hospice based in Moggerhanger. As a charity close to many people’s hearts locally, we hope to raise another significant amount with over £30,000 to date.

The CMC Marquee will definitely be worth a visit on the day, offering supporters a feast of additional treats with stalls from local Bedfordshire businesses; namely Patisserie Sheree, Floss Box Sweets, MoochiMoo Clothing, Arc Crafts, Tropic (mini treatments) plus a casino table and photobooth from MJS Events.

As is tradition, pre-match all ladies can enjoy a complimentary glass of Pink Prosecco, thanks to Carlsberg Britvic.

There will be a raffle, auction and bucket collection as usual, plus Heads & Tails in all hospitality venues, while all Eco Cup donations will also go to Sue Ryder.

Post-Match Auction

A standout moment of the day sees the return of our post-match jersey auction as Blues once again wear a special one-off pink design to celebrate the day.

Every jersey is up for grabs in the initial silent auction (1-23) which remains live until 5pm on Friday, but select jerseys will be auctioned off by MC Sam Roberts in the marquee post-game.

Additional Entertainment

With another large crowd expected, we’re pulling out all the stops to ensure everyone has a great matchday experience at the home of Bedford’s premier sporting club with pink pyrotechnics welcoming the teams onto the pitch on Saturday.

The Rebel Bar Final Whistle Man of the Match interview remains, alongside live coverage of Nottingham Forest v Chelsea (KO 12:30pm) and Saracens v Sale Sharks (KO 17:30) for those looking to focus on the sporting world.

Before and after the live auction, returning favourite Mark Calder will perform on the mic to kickstart the celebrations in the marquee.

Food and Drink

Head to the ground early to avoid the queues and soak up the atmosphere before finding your spot to sample everything Goldington Road has to offer.

As well as all the activation in the marquee, there’s plenty of food and drink to enjoy with four hot food kiosks and seven public bars to enjoy.

The newly named, Genesis Fanzone is a key place to visit – located adjacent to the scoreboard in the Southwest corner of the ground, housing No.7 Coffee, the Cabin Bar, plus the Sausage and Burger Hut. Alternatively head over to the Burrow hatch after kick off to enjoy the Chicken George menu.

Blues Foundation Activation

Make sure to show your support to our Bellway Homes Guard of Honour, this week formed of Junior Blues Girls, Ampthill Girls and Hazeldene Girls, as they step out onto the field just before kick-off on Ladies Day.

Please respect and support our pitchside ball team as the action gets underway, allowing for a great afternoon of fast, entertaining rugby.
