TEAM NEWS | Champ Rugby returns under lights

Posted: 27th November 2025

Mike Rayer has named his squad as Bedford Blues prepare to make their penultimate away voyage of the calendar year when they head to Nottingham under the Friday Night Lights (Kick Off 7:45pm).

Tickets still available to support the team on the road, while the game is again available on Clubber TV – click here to show your support for Champ Rugby.

A real traditional rugby fixture, Bedford and Nottingham have been doing battle for over a century, with this the 114th clash in that timeframe.

Both sides made strong starts to their league campaign in Block One, separated by just three points and two places in the table, with this particular battle representing 3rd vs 5th.

Ahead of the game, Rayer has made four changes to the Starting XV which battled to victory over Caldy at a sodden Goldington Road two weeks ago. That shows an equal number of switches in the forwards pack and backs division, in a game that starts a run of six successive match weeks.

Up front there is the usual front row alteration, this time seeing James Fish come in at the middle of the front row, while Alex Woolford is able to make a return having missed out against Caldy through concussion protocols.

Having played in the position earlier in his career, George Worth starts on the wing for the first time in a Bedford jersey, bringing about a few positional alterations and the return of Michael Le Bourgeois at inside centre.

Bedford Blues Starting XV:

15. Louis James, 14. George Worth, 13. Lucas Titherington, 12. Michael Le Bourgeois, 11. Dean Adamson, 10. Will Maisey, 9. James Lennon; 1. Jamie Jack, 2. James Fish, 3. Oisin Heffernan, 4. Rory Ward, 5, Alex Woolford, 6. Fred Tuilagi, 7. Kayde Sylvester, 8. Tui Uru

Bedford Blues Replacements:

16. Tommy Herman, 17. Joe Cowell, 18. Monty Royston, 19. Ilan Evans, 20. Nicholas Finch, 21. Alex Day, 22. Tom Price, 23. Billy Pasco
