Ladies Day 2025 Sue Ryder Donation
Bedford Blues are delighted to have raised a Ladies Day donation of £11,000 for Sue Ryder St John’s Hospice in Moggerhanger following the festivities against Hartpury University in October.
A Champ Rugby cracker on the hallowed turf of Goldington Road was matched by another cracking afternoon of activation off it, raising money for a very deserved and worthwhile charitable cause, close to a lot of people’s hearts across Bedfordshire.
Our loyal #BluesFamily raised the staggering amount via a number of different means - raffles, auctions and collections at the Club’s 17th staging of the now annual event. The majority came from the ever-popular post-match jersey auction with MC Sam Roberts, thank you to everyone who supported.
Sue Ryder volunteers and Bedford supporters managed to make Goldington Road a sea of pink and blue for the day to raise another staggering amount, taking the total fundraising to St John’s Hospice over £40,000 in the past three years.
Blues’ Chief Executive Officer, Gareth Alred said: “The generosity of our #BluesFamily never ceases to amaze, and we’re humbled to be able to donate another incredible amount to Sue Ryder St John’s Hospice this year.
“Collectively, since beginning this calendar favourite in October 2008, we have now raised close to £150,000 for various charitable causes, which is just an incredible total.
“Sue Ryder, St John’s Hospice, Moggerhanger, is a charity right at the heart of the Bedfordshire community. To be able to help them continue their specialist care for those who require it most in our local area. Thank you once again to everyone who came in support of Ladies Day.”
Senior Community Fundraiser at Sue Ryder St John’s Hospice, Nick Burr added: “I’d like to say a huge thank you to Bedford Blues and their wonderful supporters for their ongoing support. The incredible generosity shown at the 2025 Ladies Day event will help us continue offering vital care and support to families during the toughest times.”
