It’s all going on as Saturday rugby returns to Goldington Road when Bedford Blues host Cambridge for Clubber TV’s showcase fixture in Round Nine of Champ Rugby (Gates Open 12pm; Kick Off 3pm).

Big Game Preview
Following a thrilling comeback draw at Nottingham last time out, Mike Rayer’s men will be looking to extend their unbeaten run to seven matches, buoyed by a vocal home support, and hoping to keep pressure on the table’s top two, Ealing and Worcester.
Cambridge will be chasing a first ever victory over Bedford in competitive action, hoping to ignite an upturn in fortunes following a tough start to the season. Craig Newby’s charges still search for an inaugural success in this year’s Champ and will be keen to spring an upset on the road.

This game marks the official launch of the Genesis Fanzone with new branding, drinking shelf and our friends from Brewpoint, the brewers of Genesis, in their branded gazebo offering their spinning wheel competition. For those wanting more rugby in the build-up, head to the Scrum Bar or Legends Bar for Saracens v Clermont Auvergne (KO 1pm) on the TV screens.
Food & Drink
With a large crowd expected to start December, all food and drink provision will be open on site meaning there’s seven public places to grab a pint and the usual four hot food options, including Chicken George from the Burrow hatch at KO and Taylor’s Kitchen at the Scrum Bar.
The Genesis Fanzone is also home to the usual No.7 Coffee House, Cabin Bar, Burger Hut and Ice Cream Joe is back.
Our pick for a swift and cosy pint would be the revamped Legends Bar, above the changing rooms, and with a fresh look thanks to lager partners, Estrella Damm; the Spanish lager brewed right here in Bedford.
Post-Match Entertainment
After the live action has finished, head to the CMC Marquee for live music with returning favourite, Jodie Erica, or visit the Legends Bar for the Final Whistle interview with Sam Roberts and the Man of the Match.
In all hospitality suites, the Scrum Bar, Legends Bar and The Burrow at the Blues; you can also settle in for more rugby on the TVs. Following the conclusion of the Blues match being live streamed, we’ll shoot straight to La Rochelle v Leicester Tigers (KO 5:30pm), and if you’ll really not leave, we’ll show Bath v Munster (KO 8pm).

The Goldington Road Ticket Office remains a cashless facility, so if buying on matchday, be aware we cannot accept cash, and this is the only place to buy them.
