Separated by just 31 miles, but only a sixth competitive meeting throughout history, both sides will be looking to put on a show in-front of a larger audience, both watching inside the ground and via free-to-air coverage.
Blues have triumphed in all the previous battles since a first in 1979 but will be wary of the threat posed by their visitors as the countdown to Christmas begins with this first December fixture.
Going into the game Rayer makes eight changes to the side which battled back for a valiant draw at Nottingham last week, making five switches in the forwards pack and three in the backs division.
Contained within are first ever Champ Rugby starts for Joe Cowell at loosehead prop and Joe Hill on the right wing; while fresh from a first outing on the wing last week, George Worth shows even greater versatility by taking the 15 jersey this week.
Among the replacements, Ryan Hutler is back from the injury that has kept him out for the past two matchdays, but Rayer still has a few absentees to contend with.
