FRIDAY | Blues search for return to winning ways

Posted: 16th February 2026

In our final Friday Night Lights of the regular season, there’s a packed schedule on and off the pitch to keep you entertained as the Blues target victory over London Scottish at Goldington Road (Gates Open 5pm; Kick Off 7:45pm).

As well as the rugby, it’s our annual Ale Festival in the CMC Marquee, we have live music throughout the evening and it’s Community Clubs Night as the players wear the socks of different local rugby clubs.

Big Game Preview

Both sides will be looking for a response after tough results last weekend, going down to Doncaster Knights and Worcester Warriors respectively.

Blues have started to turn the screw in this fixture of late, but will be fully aware of the challenge that awaits them as Scottish hunt a first victory at GR since 2018.

Dean Adamson broke the record to become Blues’ greatest ever try scorer in this fixture last season, what history will be written this time around?

Real Ale Festival – CMC Marquee

A full Starting XV of guest beers will be on offer inside the CMC Marquee from gates opening at 5pm behind our Real Ale Festival bar.

To read the full listing and tasting notes either checkout the programme centrefold or look out on our social channels.

Food & Drink

The Marquee is one of seven public venues open this matchday, with all the usual favourites available elsewhere around the ground. Grab a programme at the gates and take a wander to sample all on offer.

For quieter surroundings, try the upstairs Legends Bar or head into the Scrum Bar before the game. The familiar four hot food kiosks are also available, including a catering unit in the Genesis Fanzone – also housing No.7 Coffee - plus another by the main gates, Taylor’s Kitchen at the Scrum Bar serving hatch and Chicken George from The Burrow window.

Please take note of the new Eco Bin Banks which will be installed around GR ahead of the game, and dispose of your rubbish in the correct segments as displayed on the respective containers.

Entertainment

More than just the vital Champ Rugby battle on offer this Friday as four lucky fans are selected for the B&W Waste Management kicking competition at half-time. Cheer them on at the bottom end of the ground.

Post-game we welcome a new musical performer to the CMC Marquee as former ‘Best London Singer’ award winner and more importantly, local favourite, Laura Menozzi kickstarts your weekend.

Elsewhere, the Legends Bar hosts the Final Whistle interview after the action with the game’s Man of the Match and Sam Roberts.

Blues Foundation Activation

As it’s Community Clubs Night, all Blues players will wear socks from local rugby clubs during the game – checkout socials for more details in the build-up to the match.

Friday’s Guard of Honour, supported by Bellway Homes, will be formed of Putnoe Beavers, who join us as part of achieving their Sports Activity badge. Please give them a cheer as they step out onto the pitch to form the pre-match tunnel.

Don’t forget there’s multiple places to return your Eco Cups, including at the bars. Remember for every cup given back, the proceeds go to the club’s charitable arm, helping them continue the fantastic community work they provide across the county.

Club Shop

Wrap up warm this matchday! There’s something for everyone inside the Club Shop, open from its normal times of two hours before kick-off, half-time and after full-time.
