TEAM NEWS | Squad named for Bath battle

Posted: 13th March 2026

Mike Rayer has named a 26-man squad as Bedford Blues travel to reigning PREM Rugby champions, Bath Rugby tonight for an important opportunity to put minutes back into the legs ahead of a return to league action next weekend.

Tickets still available online for those joining the team in Somerset, click here to purchase.

Tonight’s game continues the relationship forged between the clubs having been drawn together in the PREM Rugby Cup pool phase in the 2024/25 campaign, and marks Bedford’s second visit to The Rec in just over a year following a thrilling 43-26 battle last time out.

For the game, a 52nd meeting between the sides, the team shows nine changes when compared to the Starting XV which began the important Champ Rugby victory over Caldy a couple of weeks ago.

Michael Le Bourgeois captains the side when wearing the fly-half jersey for the first time since doing so for Wasps in December 2020, being one of a couple of positional alterations within the Starting XV.

There are four Northampton Saints helping compose the travelling squad, including potential first run outs in Blues colours for Aidan Pugh and Amena Caqusau, who are both named among the replacements bench.

Bedford Blues Starting XV:

15. Louis James, 14. Joe Hill, 13. George Worth, 12. Billy Pasco, 11. Dean Adamson, 10. Michael Le Bourgeois (C), 9. James Lennon; 1. Jamie Jack, 2. Tommy Herman, 3. Ben Griffin, 4. James Bennett, 5. Ilan Evans, 6. Kayde Sylvester, 7. Nicholas Finch, 8. Fred Tuilagi

Bedford Blues Replacements:
