England U21 Women win Six Nations Opener
A Six Nations title showdown at Goldington Road is one step closer as England and France both won their opening fixtures of the tournament last weekend.
LJ Lewis' side ran in nine tries to secure a 51-12 victory in Scotland, while France ripped through Wales to take an early spot at the top of the table thanks to a 76-5 away victory.
Ireland were the other team to triumph on opening weekend thanks to a 55-8 victory over Italy.
England U21 Women make dominant start
England U21 Women sit third after the opening round of fixtures via points difference only, but it was an electric start from the team in a game hosted at The Hive, Edinburgh.
Full back Solana Shaw De Lyon scored a majestic hat-trick, player of the match Carmela Morrall and Molly Bunker both dotted down twice, while Hayley Jones and Aisha Jah also crossed the whitewash.
It was a mightily impressive display, putting in the building blocks ahead of two huge tests of their title credentials.
Lewis' side host Ireland in the next round of action, on Saturday 2nd May, while France take on Scotland. With each side only playing three games throughout the tournament, should both teams be victorious next weekend then the trophy will be on the line at Goldington Road.

England's imperious record at Goldington Road
Goldington Road has played host to four international clashes in recent years, most recently in April 2024 as England Deaf defeated their Welsh counterparts to lift the Broadstreet Cup.
England have a proud record on the hallowed turf to defend, having also won respective U19s, U20s and a Women’s Quilter International, all of which against Italy.
This will be the first time a French international side has featured at Goldington Road.
