Bedford Blues kickstart a triple re-signing Wednesday with the news that Alex Woolford has committed his future to the club for a sixth season at Goldington Road.
Woolford arrived in Bedford in the Summer of 2021 and has been an important part of the squad environment ever since, bringing a wealth of experience to the second row division.
He has made 19 appearances so far this season, and is ready and raring to go for the upcoming play-off structure.
On agreeing to stay in Bedford, Woolford said: “It’s been an absolute pleasure to play for this club over the last five years, and I’m delighted to be continuing my journey here.
“We’re a tight knit group and we get so much enjoyment in everything we do, both on and off the field. Goldington Road is a brilliant place to be.”
Woolford will be targeting the illustrious century club next season having now made 83 appearances for the club, chipping in with four tries along the way as part of some important performances.
Most famously remembered for an offload to set-up Joey Conway’s try against Bath in-front of the TNT Sports cameras, Blues would like to thank The FECCers for their player sponsorship of Woolfy.
Forwards Coach, Cameron Boon added: “I’m delighted Woolfy has committed his future for another year. His experience and quality are massive for the group, and just as importantly, he’s a great man who puts the team first and really looks after the boys around him.
“It’s been a real privilege to work with him this season and looking forward to it again next year.”
