Bedford Blues are pleased to start another day featuring triple re-signing news with the announcement that Louis James will spend a third campaign at Goldington Road in 2026/27 Elior Champ Rugby.
An ever present in the team since arrival before injury curtailed his season in March, James had been one of the standout performers in the squad. He will now return to make his 50th appearance when next taking the field.
On signing on the dotted line for next season, James said: “There was no decision in my mind – I’ve loved these two seasons in Bedford.
“It’s obviously been a frustrating end to this season with injury, but I’m determined to come back stronger and continue to help the team.
“There’s a real good core of the group staying together next season and we all want to continue what has been an upward trajectory in recent years.”
From his previous 49 appearances for Bedford, James has chipped in with 18 tries, four of which have come this season including a Christmas double in the home victory over Worcester.
Blues Director of Rugby, Mike Rayer added: “Obviously a disappointing end to Louis’ season through his hamstring. But he was playing some great rugby consistently across the year before that, adding some real x-factor from full-back.
“Pleased to have him here again and hopefully he can kick on with his journey next year.”
Blues would like to thank Blackchair for their player sponsorship of James.
