Blues have only faced Northampton Saints on more occasions throughout history than their Midlands counterparts, with a long sequence of fixtures stretching all the way back to 1894. This will be the 193rd meeting between the pair.
The stakes have rarely been higher with just one previous example of a meeting in a semi-final, with both sides trading home victories against each other in the regular season by narrow margins of seven or fewer.
Both sides ended the league phase with four wins from five, and another huge battle is set to take place under the lights with a spot in the showpiece final on the line.
For the game, Rayer makes 10 changes from the last day of the league season, as Blues hunt a spot in the final, something they last achieved in 2013.
For the first time since September’s launch, Blues will run out at home in their white alternate kit, designed to commemorate 25 years since the club was officially saved by its supporters.
