Mike Rayer has named his squad as Bedford Blues prepare to host their final home fixture of the regular Elior Champ Rugby league season when Chinnor come to town this Saturday (KO 3pm).

Just a fourth meeting between the two sides, and without question the most important so far, with both teams looking to solidify their own play-off aspirations with just two rounds of fixtures to go.

For Bedford, they know that a bonus point victory would see them confirm second place in the table and a home semi-final, but the challenge doesn’t come much tougher than an in-form Chinnor who can lock in their spot within the post-season knockout structure.

The teams played out an entertaining battle at Kingsey Road back in January, and another interesting affair is set to take centre stage in-front of a packed crowd at Goldington Road.

Ahead of Saturday’s game, Rayer makes two changes to the starting side compared to that which took the field in Richmond two weeks ago.

Rory Ward is able to return having come off the bench last time out as part of a gradual return from injury in the second row, while Lucas Titherington is back to partner Michael Le Bourgeois in the centres.

Having been chosen to retain his place in the Starting XV, Fred Tuilagi will lead out the team to make his 50th club appearance.

Bedford Blues Starting XV:

15. George Worth, 14. Amena Caqusau, 13. Lucas Titherington, 12. Michael Le Bourgeois, 11. Dean Adamson, 10. Will Maisey, 9. Alex Day (C); 1. Joey Conway, 2. Tommy Herman, 3. Oisin Heffernan, 4. Rory Ward, 5. Alex Woolford, 6. Fred Tuilagi, 7. Fyn Brown, 8. Tui Uru
