Bedford Blues continue their final day of re-signings with the news that Nicholas Finch will add further continuity into the back row division having agreed to stay at Goldington Road for 2026/27 Elior Champ Rugby.
The 25-year-old has enjoyed a strong start to life in his debut campaign at Bedford, making 23 appearances and chipping in with three important tries, including one on Boxing Day.
On deciding to stay around for another 12 months, Finch said: “I’m absolutely buzzing to be staying on for another season – my first year at the club has been a great experience.
“The brand of rugby we play here is something I’ve loved being involved in and it’s definitely been what I needed to keep developing my game.
“I’m grateful to Mike and the coaches for putting their faith in me again and giving me another opportunity to continue improving. Can’t wait to get back out there with the boys.”
Finch becomes the 12th forward to commit his future for next season, joining the likes of Tui Uru and Fred Tuilagi in the back row, with one final announcement to come later today to complete the 22 re-signings overall.
Forwards Coach, Cameron Boon added: “Finchy is a physical specimen with all the attributes to be a very good flanker. He's powerful, hits hard, and wwe've seen real glimpses of his potential this season.
"Rugby is still relatively new to him, but with continued hard work and by learning from those around him, I'm confident we'll see him take another big step forward next year."
Blues would like to thank Jaltek for their continued player sponsorship this season.
