Blues to contest Baker Brothers Cup v Cambridge
Tickets for Bedford Blues’ opening pre-season fixture against Cambridge are now on sale, as the two local rivals prepare to meet at Goldington Road on Friday 21st August with the Baker Brothers Cup on the line (KO 7:30pm).
The match will also be played in memory of Jonno Garland, the Blues Season Ticket holder who sadly passed away at last season’s meeting between the two sides at Ellgia Fields.

After two gruelling blocks of pre-season training, Mike Rayer’s men will return to home soil and kick-off their 26-27 fixture list against the National One outfit, who themselves will be targeting a solid start and an instant return to Elior Champ Rugby.
An early piece of silverware will be available to the two sides in the second iteration of the Baker Brothers Cup. Bedford are the current holders, having defeated Ampthill 40-24 last year.
An intriguing battle awaits on the field with Dan Eckersley set to make his Blues’ debut against his former side, alongside Kayde Sylvester also facing his ex-teammates. While the visitors are expected to name Joe Hill in their line-up having left GR this summer, as well as former Bedford favourite Ben Adams.
