Pre-Season Fixtures Announced
Bedford Blues will host two Friday Night Lights pre-season fixtures at Goldington Road later this Summer as preparations ramp up ahead of an exciting 26/27 Elior Champ Rugby campaign.
Both games are included in this year’s Season Ticket package as Mike Rayer’s side face familiar foes on home soil, looking to build momentum for the league season ahead.
- Bedford Blues v Cambridge on Friday 21st August (KO 7:30pm).
- Bedford Blues v Bath Rugby on Friday 11th September (KO 7:30pm).
The home opener sees Blues host close rivals, Cambridge in late August. Expect many familiar faces in the visiting squad including Joe Hill and Ben Adams among others, as Cambridge prepare for league action two weeks later.
Following a pre-season camp in the Lake District over Bank Holiday weekend, Blues will return home to face PREM and European semi-finalists, Bath Rugby a week before the start of the new league season.
The two teams have struck up a close relationship since meeting in the PREM Rugby Cup in 24/25, with Johann Van Graan’s men returning the favour of a friendly after Bedford’s trip to The Rec last March.
Mike Rayer’s men will be hunting a first victory over the West Country outfit since 1987, in what is a fourth battle in just two years, and 52nd overall.
