FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS | Bedford v Bath
Bedford Blues conclude their pre-season schedule with their toughest test yet, hosting last season’s PREM semi-finalists and former European champions, Bath Rugby this Friday (Gates Open 5pm; KO 7:30pm).

Big Game Preview
Mike Rayer’s men have taken three top-flight scalps in recent years, and will be hoping to add another this week, chasing a first success over Bath since 1987.
Blues ran in 12 tries in their pre-season opener against Cambridge, lifting the Baker Brothers Cup, but will face an altogether different challenge under the lights against a Bath side expected to be littered with international stars.
Johann Van Graan’s side have contested two fixtures so far to start proceedings, an away victory at Perpignan and defeat at Sale Sharks in the opening round of the PREM Rugby Cup.

Rayer’s men will be debuting their fresh, new away threads on matchday, honouring a special fabric of the club with an emblematic design – and new shade of blue!
But while the players have to wait until 7:30pm to get their hands on the new jersey, you can have it before them! Both 26/27 colours hit the shelves of the Club Shop, plus some of our new leisurewear items also available.
Open from the usual times of two hours before the game, half-time and following the final whistle.
Food and Drink
A new cider hits the pumps! Thatchers Gold will now be available throughout the ground, as well as Thatchers Zero%. The Thatchers Land Rover Defender will be parked outside the CMC Marquee on matchday to celebrate our new partnership, offering small product samples before heading in to buy a pint.
The Marquee is one of seven public bars open on Friday, including the ever-popular Scrum Bar and the Legends Bar, serving our full range of crowd favourites, featuring Estrella Damm and locally brewed, Genesis Stout. An additional container bar will be located next to the SDC Suites.
The Genesis Fan Zone is packed out with all the usual favourites, as well as Eat Gelato Ice Cream Van, plus there’s the usual four hot food offerings dotted around the ground, including Taylor’s Kitchen, Chicken George and the usual kiosks.
Additional Entertainment
Post-match music returns to Goldington Road! Local artist Ben Kelly will be in the Marquee following the game to kickstart your weekend, while there’s the usual Man of the Match interview in the Legends Bar.
Before that, make sure to keep an eye on the hallowed turf for half-time fun courtesy of club sponsors, Bird Brothers, who are hosting a Giant Egg and Spoon Obstacle Race. Cracking entertainment!

Friday’s Guard of Honour, supported by Bellway Homes, will be composed of three age groups from our Bedford Junior Blues. Make sure to give them a cheer as they step out onto the pitch before kick-off!
