Posted: 28th October 2026

Bedford Blues are proud to announce a new and exciting partnership with Thatchers Cider that will bring a taste of the West Country to Goldington Road this season.

This new agreement, activated through’s the Club’s existing partnership with principal drinks supplier, Carlsberg Britvic, sees even more variety available at the pumps and in the fridges, thanks to the partnership with the premier Cider maker, Thatchers.

Thatchers Gold is available throughout the ground, while the CMC Marquee will also offer Thatchers Blood Orange, Thatchers Apple & Blackcurrant and Thatchers Cloudy Lemon on draught. A selection of Thatchers’ low and no cider range will be available in certain areas.

Bedford Blues Chief Executive Officer, Gareth Alred said: “We are delighted to welcome Thatchers to Goldington Road, offering not just fantastic ciders to add to our line-up, but a brand with a strong rugby heritage looking to support our game.”

As part of this new relationship, Thatchers will be joining the Blues on selected matchdays to activate their partnership as well as working on a couple of special local projects with the club.

For 122 years, Thatchers Cider has been crafting cider at Myrtle Farm in Sandford, with four generations of the family at its heart. Rooted in Somerset tradition, the family-run cidermaker is known for authentic ciders full of flavour and character, while continuing to invest in innovation and sustainability.

Martin Thatcher, 4th Generation Cider Maker said of the partnership “We’re delighted to join forces with Bedford Blues and bring a taste of Somerset to Goldington Road. Rugby has a fantastic way of bringing people together.  We look forward to working with the Blues and creating memorable moments both on matchdays and beyond.”

Blues would again like to thank Carlsberg Britvic for helping facilitate this new relationship.
