Blues Community Rugby Camps Return

Bedford Blues Community were delighted to welcome over 120 young people to Goldington Road in the past two weeks for another successful Easter Holidays rugby camp.

As Government restrictions begin to ease and the RFU’s Return to Rugby Roadmap allowing outdoor rugby camps to return, it has been incredibly pleasing to accommodate the next generation of rugby players who have been desperate to be back playing with friends and teammates.

Throughout lockdown, the community department have had to get creative to provide their ‘Play the Blues way’ principles; hosting weekly rugby sessions on Zoom and providing specialist 1-2-1 coaching to focus on specific skill development.

The move to Stage D1 in the roadmap has given more freedom for Blues Community to conduct these socially distanced easter camps, in a fully safe and secure manner.

Blues Community continue to monitor guidelines to compile relevant COVID risk management plans for each activation conducted and will look to announce details for Summer Rugby Camps very soon.

As schools return to sporting provision, Blues Community remain here to help wherever needed, offering the same development and outreach projects as before the pandemic, as well as some new bespoke programmes.
